Field Service Mechanics

Field Service Mechanics / Millwrights required for Calgary, Red Deer, Grande Prairie, Lethbridge and Taber locations

SAGE Energy requires field service mechanics or millwrights with a minimum of 2 years experience in the gas compression industry. The ideal candidate must be a certified Journeyman HD/Automotive Mechanic or Millwright technician and be proficient in the following:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experienced in the overhaul, maintenance and repair of Waukesha and Caterpillar engines and Ariel, Dressor Rand and Gemini compressors
  • Experienced in trouble shooting ignition panels and instrument panels
  • Knowledgeable and experienced in package startup and commissioning
  • Combined Screw and Recip compression experience would be an asset
  • Provides detailed record keeping and presents detailed daily timesheets to customers
  • Recognizes opportunities to improve service and manufacturing sales
  • Communicates daily with Service Manager or Service Coordinator and the schedule
  • High achiever / skilled tradesman, dedicated to performing quality work in a reasonable time
  • Places a high priority on safety of self and others and values the company safety policies and procedures. Is able to train and mentor junior employees in standard work practices and safe work procedures
  • Ability to lead individuals and teams in Job Hazard Assessments and Risk Analysis
  • Fully supports Continuous Improvement Initiatives
  • Leads by example. Strong promoter of the SAGE Vision and Safety Culture with a passion for improving quality in the workplace
  • Able to provide “On Call” support to customer field locations

Qualifications:

  • Certified Journeyman Interprovincial HD/Automotive Mechanic or Millwright
  • Minimum two years experience operating a field service truck in the gas compression industry
  • Prior certified engine or compressor training would be an asset
  • Ability to work in remote locations
  • Possess good driving habits and a Clean Drivers abstract
  • Ability to work well in a team environment and mentor junior workers
  • Well organized with the ability to multitask and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Able to provide solid work references
