Barry Rinehart
Owner / President
Although he might not look old enough to have 31 years of industry experience, Barry has been involved in the oil and gas industry since 1978. Starting as a welding apprentice, he worked his way into the controls group and eventually earned his ticket as an instrumentation and control journeyman. He served for many years in sales management roles with companies such as Lakusta and Toromont Process Systems, until he started Concept Compression, now Sage Energy Corp, in 2002.
Trent Bruce
Owner / Customer Solutions
Trent’s roots in the gas compression and refrigeration business go back to 1986. Began as a Shipper/receiver at Startec Refrigeration and worked his way up to Parts and Service Manager and then Project Manager. Trent then joined Toromont in 1994 as a technical sales rep focusing on natural gas compression and process refrigeration for the oil and gas industry. During his time at Toromont he was an integral part of growing their revenues from $6.5MM to $100MM in the compression market. He started Concept Compression, now Sage Energy Corp, in 2002.
Karen Narfason
Owner / Accounting & Administration
Karen’s educational background includes International Business, Marketing and Business Management. She served as a Market Research Analyst in the gas compression industry from 1997 to 2002, at which time she partnered with Trent Bruce and Barry Rinehart to start Concept Compression, now Sage Energy Corp.
Blair Cuncannon
Owner / Service Manager
Blair has 30 years of experience in process refrigeration and gas booster compression systems. His experience includes commissioning, maintenance and trouble shooting compression systems globally. Blair serviced as Service Manager and Technical Support Manager for a major supplier of process systems for fifteen years prior to partnering as an owner with Sage.
Mike Crawford
Business Development Manager
Mike’s educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Economy. Prior to joining Sage, he served with Finning (Canada) – Caterpillar’s largest dealer – as a Major Account Manager. At Sage, Mike’s role involves intimately understanding customer needs and working with the rest of the organization to find the right solutions.
Joe Herauf
Engineering Manager
Joe has an extensive engineering background in the oil and gas industry. He began his career with an engineering degree from the University of Saskatchewan, serving as a Project Engineer with PetroCanada from 1981 to 1992, and with DPH Engineering from 1993 to 1997. Joe then moved into manufacturing and began engineering compressor control systems from 1997 to 2005. In 2005 he joined Sage as where he now serves as Engineering Manager.
Marian Stahuliak
Operations / Service Manager
Marian is a Marine Engineer whose career includes serving as Chief Engineer with companies like BC Ferries and Alcan. He worked as Service Manager with Finning for five years prior to teaming with Sage as Operation and Service Manager.
